General Description:
Test Administrator/Academic Advisor shall perform test proctoring, academic advising, and administrative tasks.
Specific Tasks:
Test Proctoring
- Administer the following categories of tests to eligible military, DOD civilian personnel and their dependents as authorized by applicable examination policy:
- Air University course examinations
- Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT)/Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB)/Internet-Based Computerized Adaptive Test (iCAT) examinations
- Federal Aviation Association (FAA) program examinations
- Pearson Virtual University Enterprises (VUE) examinations
- Unclassified Career Development Courses (CDC) and job-site training exams
- Tests required by the Air Force that are not administered through the local military test control officer.
- Administer other tests used in advisement or guidance programs.
- Shall successfully complete training and online examination for proctored tests as identified by the Test Control Officer (TCO) and in the Mildenhall Test Center, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) folder within two weeks of assuming position. Shall complete and pass the Pearson Vue and FAA test proctor exam every 6 months.
- Must keep all testing accounts active by logging into Pearson VUE, DLPT/DLAB, iCAT ad FAA once every 30 days.
- Must remain physically present during the entire test session unless relieved by another employee on the appointment letter.
- Provide academic advisement, information, guidance, related briefings, and preparation of documents associated with the services provided. Shall perform the following advisory services:
- Provide individual career, academic, and force development advisement to military personnel, their dependents, and/or civilian personnel pursuing basic skills, undergraduate/graduate, vocational, and technical education programs to include but not limited to the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
- Advise eligible personnel on licensure/certifications and professional development opportunities at various levels, to include but not limited to AF Credentialing Opportunities Online (AFCOOL) program.
- Advise eligible personnel on officer accession programs and other educational support programs.
- Advise eligible personnel on financial aid programs including grants, scholarships, tuition assistance, or Veteran’s Administration benefit programs. Provide guidance to students on completion of all applicable forms/applications.
- Provide eligible personnel information about the SkillBridge Program and assistance tailored to their career goals.
- Advise eligible personnel of Professional Military Education programs available for enlisted personnel and officers by distance learning and provide information for self-enrollment for appropriate programs.
- Conduct follow-up and outreach activities to encourage individual students to meet their educational objectives.
- Help to plan and execute CCAF graduation ceremonies as part of the Graduation Committee.
- Administrative Tasks
- Prepare all necessary correspondence and forms while maintaining related records and logs required to support all aspects of job tasks.
- Conduct goal analysis and log all customer interactions in Air Force the Automated Education Management System (AFAEMS). Failure to document will be grounds for contract termination.
- Check room prior to testing to ensure proper spacing between desks and adequate lighting, heat, and air circulation exists.
- Maintain official test logs, showing the individual’s name and the test title for all test administrations. Ensure each student signs this log prior to being administered a test and that all entries are complete and legible.
- Complete safe and test office security forms at close of each test session. Ensure supplies, forms, envelopes, inventories, brochures, or booklets are stored in the safe or filing cabinet.
- Lock safe, close windows and lock testing office doors before leaving the testing office.
- Inform test control officer immediately of any irregularities, which may represent the potential for a test compromise or complaint from a testing candidate.
- Check organizational email boxes for emails and respond to enquiries within 2 working days of receipt.
- Schedule personnel within one (1) working day of receiving request in AFAEMS.
- Provide TCO with all DLPT/DLAB/iCAT scores.
- Provide weekly report on all support activities to ETS Chief or authorized designee.
Position Requirements
Bachelor,
1+ Years
work experience Qualifications:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- A minimum of 15 semester hours in social sciences, education, or a related discipline, or at least one year of relevant work or volunteer experience pertaining to academic advising, covering needs from basic educational skills to graduate-level degrees.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer operations and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher) is required.
- Ability to provide effective academic advising, communicate clearly and concisely, work independently, solve problems effectively, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing priorities.
