Position Summary: This role supervises staff who provide family‑centered, trauma‑informed services to ensure safety, permanency, and well‑being for children at risk of or who have experienced maltreatment.

Qualifications- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to protective services (child safety, permanency, and well‑being).
- Ability to engage children and families to gather sufficient information for accurate and precise decisions.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships, including with individuals who may be violent or angry, and maintain them over time.
- Four years of child protection work experience or related experience working with children and families in difficult and sometimes volatile situations.
- Supervisory work experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a directly related field.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of child maltreatment prevention and treatment and family‑centered social work practice.
- Knowledge of the methods and procedures for Child Protection Specialists.
- Knowledge of the laws and rules pertaining to child protection services such as the Indian Child Welfare Act.
- Experience working with tribal government entities and/or other organizations of Native peoples.
- Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis; a bachelor’s degree is required.

• Telework Eligibility: partial telework may be available; specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must comply with state policy.
• Statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
• Position open until filled with frequent screening of applicants.
