Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
- Licensed within the State of Montana.
- Position is day shift.
- Range $34.50/hr – $42/hr plus full benefits and relocation/sign‑on bonus.
- Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance level and use skills learned to function in the community within their capabilities.
- Administer comprehensive evaluations and document patient information in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Provide consultation regarding environmental design, adaptive equipment, proper positioning to prevent contractures and splinting, to agencies such as local schools, nursing homes, home care agencies, and hospital settings.
- Maintain timely and accurate patient records and reports.
- Design and administer treatment programs to increase levels of functioning. Use therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine‑motor coordination. Instruct patients in adapted techniques and use of adaptive equipment for meal preparation, home management, dressing, feeding, and other self‑care skills. Train patients in use of upper‑extremity prosthetic devices to resume previous daily routines. Participate in home assessments.
- Provide therapy for neurological integration; administer sensor‑motor integration treatment techniques and visual perceptual‑motor remediation programs. Use activities to increase developmental levels of patients. Design and provide individualized therapy for adult learning‑disabled patients.
- Design and fabricate splints as prescribed by doctors. Design and/or fabricate slings and adaptive equipment to meet patient and family needs.
- Administer treatment programs to traumatic brain‑injured patients, improving judgment skills, reality orientation, and organizational skills.
- Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instruct patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits. Instruct family members in transfer techniques to avoid back strain.
- Provide activities to assess organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, coordination, and adaptive‑equipment needs.
- Design home programs and instruct patients or families in implementing them.
- Participate in patient support groups with other team members.
- Provide evaluations and develop a plan of care.
