Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Staffordshire. These roles provide a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom experience while supporting pupils’ learning and development.

Cover Supervisors play an important role within schools by ensuring lessons continue to run smoothly when teachers are absent. You will be responsible for supervising classes, delivering pre-set work, and maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.

This role is particularly suited to graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain valuable experience in education. Many candidates who begin as Cover Supervisors go on to pursue careers in teaching, pastoral support, or school leadership roles.

Previous classroom experience is helpful but not essential. Schools often value candidates with strong communication, confidence, and the ability to engage and motivate young people. Transferable skills from areas such as coaching, mentoring, youth work, tutoring, or leadership roles can translate extremely well into this position.

Your Role

Supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences
Ensure pupils remain focused on pre-set lesson work
Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive environment
Support pupils with questions and encourage engagement in learning
Report back to teaching staff following lessons

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
