Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a full time Landscape Architect, Urban Designer, or Architect to join our Land Planning & Landscape Architecture Department to work on a variety of projects for clients within the commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use private development sector. This opportunity is open to our Baltimore office with the expectation of some travel to other Dewberry offices.

The ideal candidate will be a curious, highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a proven track record of design and construction expertise that will join a team of outstanding professionals. The candidate must be flexible, technically savvy, client-focused while working in a team environment, and enjoy a fast-paced environment. They will need to execute and deliver tasks and services on time and on budget in the execution of projects from Concept to Construction Administration.

Responsibilities

The work required is diverse and ranges from land planning, landscape architecture, and urban design, including various landscape architectural typologies (gardens, parks, trails, plazas, site planning, etc.) to renewable energy work (ground mount solar, EV charging, solar canopies, etc.). Work may include a similar range of projects, from preparing entitlement documents and presentations to technical work that requires advanced knowledge in planning and design.

The ideal candidate will complement the current team by providing additional detailed landscape architecture and urban design experience. Candidates are encouraged to pursue the professional development pathway that is most fulfilling to them, whether technical and subject matter expert, project management, or some blend of both.

  • Deliver projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget both client and project deadlines
  • Prepare construction drawings, including crafting details, write specifications sections, and coordinate with engineers and vendors to incorporate appropriate technical requirements
  • Coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits
  • Assist with marketing and proposal efforts and project management duties as well as oversee, train and mentor junior/mid-level staff by delegating tasks for project execution
