Description of Work:

Client is seeking a Systems Software Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified candidate will evaluate mainframe computer performance and monitors system resource usage for capacity planning considerations. These activities include: zSystems capacity studies, performance analysis, resource usage analysis, configuration support, mainframe SMF/RMF data collection and reporting for problem determination, along with analysis of workload/workflow, stress testing, and analysis of all mainframe resources.

These activities are imperative for properly determining resource use and tuning mainframe resources for the multiple client zSystems mainframe computing environments. Supports application development, integration testing and production using IBM z Systems processors in support of operational workloads. Develops programs using SAS.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities.

· Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of relevant work experience;
Masters and 5 years of relative experience; or minimum of 11 years work experience in lieu of degree

· Minimum of 6 years of experience or more with:

· An understanding of Workload Manager (WLM) concepts and creating/maintaining WLM policies

· Minimum of 4 years of experience with:

· Advanced SAS programming

· SMF data analysis

· zSystems performance and capacity planning tools such as RMF Monitor III, CA-MICS, Merrill’s MXG, and Intellimagic, etc.

· Minimum of 4 years of experience developing reports using reporting software skills from the following set of tools using Object oriented programming techniques: IBM Utilities, zOS, zLinux, Javabatch, Cyberfusion, SAS, JCL, MXG, CA-MICS, Visualizer, Intellimagic, SQL DB, C++, Java script, HTML

· Minimum of 3 years of experience with:

· Troubleshooting performance and response time issues including problem reporting/recording, especially for zSystems processor based applications including Web Sphere and CPU specialty engines

· Application load testing and performance analysis skills and tuning zSystems mainframes

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.

· Performance analysis and tuning skills for large scale zSystems mainframes

· Microsoft productivity tools including the MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point)

· Experience performing zSystems mainframe performance and capacity planning activities based on capacity planning concepts

· Experience with Coupling Facility and hardware configurations

· Experience contributing and collaborating in zSystems hardware and software test performance analysis plans

· Statistical analysis and performance/capacity analysis reporting software skills

· Familiarity with tools such as zPCR, Visualizer, Intelli Magic, RMF Monitor III, Strobe and MICS

· Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
