Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a successful manufacturing company in Milford, CT, to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, and payment operations. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial processes.

Responsibilities

+ Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

+ Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system

+ Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents

+ Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers

+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies

+ Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation

+ Respond to vendor inquiries and cultivate positive supplier relationships

+ Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations

+ Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of invoices

+ Support inventory and purchasing teams by resolving receiving and invoicing issues

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

+ Assist with audit requests and provide documentation as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

+ Experience processing high-volume invoices

+ Familiarity with purchase orders, three-way matching, and vendor management

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices

+

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar platforms

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
