Pre-K Childcare Assistant

The Foran Child Learning Center (CLC) is seeking a qualified Pre Kindergarten Child Care Assistant for our high school-based Pre Kindergarten classroom serving children ages 3 to 4 years. With support from the CLC director, the child care assistant will work collaboratively with early childhood and high school professionals as well as high school students to provide a supportive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for prekindergarten students.

The assistant will build positive relationships with children, school staff, high school students and families while fostering social-emotional, physical and cognitive development through an intentional-play based curriculum aligned with CT Early Learning and Development Standards.

• Previous Early Childhood Education teaching experience required
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Candidate must be trained in Child First Aid and CPR

This position is 8 hours per day, 7:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. (26 hours per week). The salary is $21.00 per hour with medical benefits offered. The position also includes 10 sick days and 3 personal days.
