Position: Lead Staff After school Program School Site

Reports To:

Site Supervisor / Director of Operations

Position Summary

The Lead Staff is responsible for assisting in the daily coordination, supervision, and implementation of the Boys & Girls Club of Milford’s after school program at their assigned school site. This position ensures high-quality programming, safety, and engagement of all members, while supporting staff and acting as a liaison between the school community and Club leadership.

Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Supervision
  • Serve as the on-site lead during program hours, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent structure throughout the day.
  • Support and guide Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) to ensure effective delivery of daily activities.
  • Take initiative to problem-solve, manage group behavior, and maintain a positive environment aligned with Club values.
  • Ensure accurate attendance tracking, sign-in/out procedures, and daily reports.
Youth Engagement & Development
  • Model positive behavior and relationships with youth, promoting respect, and Club values.
  • Lead enrichment activities, homework help, and structured play that support academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development.
  • Address behavior challenges promptly and respectfully using Club-approved techniques.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for all members.
  • Follow all Club and school policies regarding supervision, emergency procedures, and mandated reporting.
  • Communicate promptly with the Site Supervisor or Director of Operations regarding incidents, attendance, or parent concerns.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Serve as the point of contact for parents, school staff, and Club administration at the site.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve program quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully complete background check and required trainings (Youth Worker, Mandated Reporter, etc.).
Schedule & Compensation
  • Hours:

    Approximately 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday during the school year.
  • Pay Rate:
    Competitive; based on experience and qualifications.
  • Location:

    Assigned elementary school site within the Boys & Girls Club of Milford program network.
