Designs, implements, and supports the process of delivering education and training to hospital personnel. The Nurse Educator reports to the Manager of Education and collaborates with departments across the hospital and its satellite locations.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Design educational experiences using adult learning principles and multiple teaching methodologies.
2. Maintain documentation and reporting systems for all educational activities.
3. Assist staff and management in orientation and staff development to establish and maintain competency.
4. Identify learning needs and plan activities to address them, including remediation.
5. Plan and evaluate programs in response to healthcare trends, organizational goals, and regulatory requirements.
II. Position
Qualifications:
License/Certification/
Education:
Required:
1. BS/BSN 2. Current RN license in Massachusetts
3. Current CPR certification Preferred: 1. MS/MSN in Education
2. Certification in a related specialty 3. BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor ships (may be required depending on department needs)
Experience/
Skills:
Required:
1. Minimum 3 years of Medical/Surgical experience Preferred:
1. Classroom teaching experience
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office
III. Physical Demands and
Environmental Conditions:
Work is primarily sedentary and performed indoors in a clinical or educational setting.
