Overview

Are you passionate about designing the future of clean energy? Crossley Scott is working with a client who is looking for a Design Engineer to join their growing team and help shape innovative, sustainable energy solutions that make a real impact.

Base pay range

$/yr - $/yr

Location:

Milford, MA (New England Area) - On Site

$130,000 - $200,000 (based on experience) + Rewarding Benefits

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize alternative energy systems — including solar and energy storage — working with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible solutions.
  • Lead and participate in on-site commissioning activities.
  • Visit construction sites to assess progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions.
  • Provide technical communications and responses for RFIs.
  • Support project development with technical documentation and proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and cost.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience designing energy systems (solar, energy storage, etc.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, SEL Software, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of grid integration, power electronics, and energy distribution.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, IEC).
  • Familiarity with networking devices and troubleshooting communications.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel overnight for jobsite visits and client meetings.
Preferred Skills
  • Professional certifications (NABCEP, FE, PE) — preferred but not required.
  • Experience with micro-grids, hybrid systems, and smart grid technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Self-directed, team-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
