At UMass Memorial Health, everyone is a caregiver – and an opportunity awaits for a Clinical Laboratory Technician to perform and interpret tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Job Details- Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt - Hiring Range: $24.10 - $43.38 (final offer may vary)
- Schedule Details:
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday);
Per diem, 7:00am-3:30pm, as needed - Shift: Day Shift, 8 Hours (USA)
- Cost Center: 26000 - 3260 Microbiology Lab
- Signing bonus may be available (a member of the Recruitment Team will confirm eligibility during the interview)
- Follow established protocols to perform a wide range of tests in an assigned area and refer to Medical Technologist II's or supervisory or lead staff members for assistance in the interpretation of complex or unusual test results.
- Ensure that test results meet requirements of the laboratory quality control program.
- Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
- Ensure preventative maintenance for equipment in assigned area, performing routine troubleshooting, repair, and modification of a wide range of complex equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate records of tests performed, using computer‑based systems.
- Required: Associates degree from a clinical lab science program (MLT),
or Bachelor’s Degree in sciences with coursework meeting high‑complexity testing requirements as defined by CLIA Sec. 493.1487. - Preferred: ASCP certification as an MLT / MT.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above requirements.
