- Assigns workload and ensures quality service delivery.
- Determines staffing needs and maintains exam supplies.
- Establishes work methods and performance standards.
- Orients new staff and provides 90‑day competency feedback.
- Offers performance feedback and assists with evaluations.
- Guides echocardiogram performance and maintains protocol manuals.
- Provides training on performance improvement and patient safety.
- Supports staff personal growth and learning opportunities.
- Treats all individuals with courtesy, respect, and integrity.
- Responds to patient and staff concerns and follows up.
- Communicates delays and offers rescheduling options when needed.
- Ensures compliance with exam orders and protocols.
- Monitors patient preparation and identification.
- Promotes a confident, professional atmosphere.
- Performs M‑mode, 2D, and color‑flow Doppler exams per ARDMS standards.
- Uses optimal patient positioning and equipment settings.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Provides clinical history and preliminary interpretations.
- Assigns exams to appropriate cardiologists.
- Prepares patient, room, and equipment.
- Assists during procedures and performs post-procedure tasks.
- Cleans and disinfects exam tables, probes, and ECG cables.
- Maintains TEE probe disinfection and machine filters.
- Maintains records, supplies, and billing accuracy.
- Coordinates echo with other cardiovascular testing.
- Required: 1–2 years of formal training
- Required: RDCS certification
- Required: Current CPR certification
- Preferred: Associate's degree
- Required: 5 years of dedicated cardiac experience
