Position: Registered Nurse - Home Infusion

Overview

Prompt Care is looking for an experienced and compassionate Infusion Nurse to join our team. As an Infusion Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients in their homes, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans and administering intravenous medications and treatments. You will educate patients and their families about home care, medications, and treatments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a dedication to providing the highest quality of care.

On-call requirements are based on region and state.

Job Type
  • Full-Time, day shifts, 40 hours per week with on-call responsibilities
Location
  • Milford, MA and surrounding area
Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Nurse in the state of employment and in good standing
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of PIV, Mid-Line, PICC Line, Tunneled Catheters, and Ports
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a home infusion nurse, or equivalent experience in another field-based home nursing organization
  • ED experience preferred
  • Proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access devices, and infusion pumps
  • Heart failure nurse training/certification highly desirable
  • Strong pediatric peripheral IV skills preferred
  • Certified Nurse Infusionist (CRNI) preferred
  • Experience with IV therapies such as inotropes, intravenous immunoglobulin, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) is a major advantage
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial nursing assessments to qualify patients for home infusion therapy and other needed care
  • Train patients and caregivers in procedures and equipment
  • Develop and revise the patient’s plan of care with patient, family, Pharmacist, and physician
  • Visit assigned patients as ordered and document compliance, competence, and tolerance
  • Provide direct patient care as ordered and allowed by state law
  • Assume on-call responsibility as assigned
  • Inventory patient supplies and inform pharmacy of needs
  • Coordinate patient care with other homecare agencies as necessary
  • Counsel patients on therapy management and potential side effects
  • Collaborate with Pharmacist on clinical recommendations for therapy changes
  • Plan daily routes to maximize time management
  • Submit nursing notes after each IV therapy session
  • Triaging field problems per company standards
  • Maintain knowledge of SOPs and ensure compliance with laws and policies
  • Deliver “white glove” service to patients and families
  • Submit travel expense reports monthly
  • Maintain professional demeanor and participate in company activities
  • Per Diem/Part-time RNs should make best effort to provide services as requested
  • Hours may vary; weekend and evenings required
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands

This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, climbing and lifting and/or moving 30 pounds or more.
