Boston Bio Products is a leading provider of biological buffers, media, and solutions for the life sciences. With nearly 30 years of experience in buffer and reagent manufacturing, our dedicated team of formulation scientists and in-house manufacturing capabilities support multiple applications including molecular biology, assay development, and bioprocessing.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales to lead commercial efforts across our custom reagent manufacturing services and catalog product lines. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by expanding our presence within life science R&D, assay development and diagnostics, and biologics manufacturing segments.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in technical sales and sales process development. Additionally, the candidate has a deep understanding of selling to diverse organization types including biopharma, CRO/CDMOs, tools and diagnostics, and academic research institutions. With a proven ability to build lasting customer relationships while managing a high-performing sales pipeline, this is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape go-to-market strategy, influence product positioning, and contribute directly to the company’s continued success and expansion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Own and manage a robust sales pipeline and funnel, ensuring consistent opportunity progression through all stages from lead generation to contract closure, with accurate forecasting and CRM discipline.
  • Build, train, develop and manage a sales team capable of delivering business critical results.
  • A focus on communicating expectations and managing performance is critical
  • Support the sales team in building and expanding strong relationships with key stakeholders and high-value customers within the pharma, biotech, academic, tools and diagnostics, and CRO/CDMO sectors
  • Develop and negotiate complex proposals, contracts, and pricing structures, ensuring alignment with company policies and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to shape value propositions, campaigns, and sales collateral that resonate with target customers.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
  • Report accurate sales metrics and forecasts to executive leadership, providing insight into performance, risks, and opportunities for growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, positioning the brand and services effectively within the target market.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA degree in a Life Science
  • field;
    Advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of successful leadership coaching and managing a direct sales team in the Life Science industry, preferably with catalog/custom reagents and services
  • Proven experience and deep understanding of the biopharmaceutical market, including the CRO/CDMO landscape, with a successful track record of selling services and solutions to biotech, pharma, and life science organizations.
  • Excellent selling, organization, communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate sales forecasting, leveraging data-driven insights and CRM tools to inform strategic decisions, allocate resources, and drive predictable revenue growth.
  • Computer skills – Proficient with CRM technologies, Microsoft Suite and platforms designed to increase sales efficiency and performance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time when not in office
