POSITION SUMMARY
Provide evaluation, treatment planning, and individual sessions based on clinical evaluations of targeted populations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Interview new patients
- Assess and treat patients
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients
- Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
- Meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress
- Involve and advise family members when appropriate
- Refer clients to specialists if necessary
- Contact rehabilitation centers or human service agencies
- Schedule and manage appointments
- Consult with Clinical Director on cases which overreach areas of own clinical competence
- Consult with Compliance Director on issues of compliance
- Help with clinical activities
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES- Clinical expertise: deep understanding of psychotherapy principles and techniques, including cognitive‑behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other evidence‑based modalities.
- Assessment and diagnosis: ability to conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health needs and diagnose any disorders that may be present.
- Counseling and therapy: ability to provide effective counseling and therapy to individuals, families, and groups using evidence‑based interventions.
- Cultural competency: strong understanding of cultural differences and ability to provide culturally sensitive care.
- Communication and collaboration: excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers.
- Professionalism and ethics: adherence to ethical guidelines, maintenance of confidentiality, and high degree of professionalism and integrity.
(a) Each outpatient therapist shall meet the following qualifications:
- Meet criteria for being a Mental Health Professional according to § 5200.3 of the PA code.
- Trained in a generally recognized clinical discipline including psychiatry, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation or activity therapies.
- If the clinical discipline is not one of the above, documentation proving the clinical nature of the degree is required.
- Current licensure in the Commonwealth in a generally recognized mental health discipline.
- Mental health clinical experience.
(b) Each outpatient therapist requires original clearances with no convictions that would prohibit hire under the Child Protective Services Law. These include:
- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- State Police criminal background check
- Federal criminal history background check
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence‑based treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in HIPAA.
- Self‑care and stress management practices to prevent burnout.

- While performing the duties of this job in the office or the community, the employee is occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time.
The position is based out of surrounding area school districts and the Slatington office.

- Provides guidance, leadership, or training to other employees (no direct supervision)
