Service Mechanic

Are you a skilled and experienced mechanic with a Master ASE Certification and a passion for keeping vehicle fleets safe, efficient, and fully operational? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your expertise to a vital role within the Miami Township Service Department.
We are currently seeking a Master ASE Certified Mechanic to join our dedicated team of professionals responsible for maintaining and repairing the township's diverse fleet of public works vehicles and equipment. This includes everything from snowplows and dump trucks to utility vehicles and emergency response equipment. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our vehicles are road‑ready, reliable, and meet all safety standards.
This position requires a deep understanding of complex mechanical systems, including diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components. You'll be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, fabricating parts, conducting routine maintenance, and keeping accurate service records. Your ability to troubleshoot problems efficiently and execute repairs with precision will be essential to the success of our operations.
The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also dependable, organized, and safety-conscious. You should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, and capable of responding to emergency repairs or after‑hours service needs when required. Your work directly supports the day‑to‑day functionality of essential township services, particularly during critical operations such as snow removal, storm response, and road maintenance.
To be considered for this role, you must possess a valid Class A Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a High School Diploma or equivalent
, and be a Master ASE Certified Mechanic
. Experience working with public works or heavy‑duty vehicles is highly preferred.
