Diesel Technician

Position Overview

Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Kapolei, Hawaii.

• Hourly Pay: $27.68 per hour
• Sign On Bonus: $3000
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
• Tool Box/Tool Allowance
• PPE and Uniforms issued; tool and boot allowance provided
• State of the Art Equipment
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Saturday with one day off during the week
• Hours:
  
  Second Shift Monday‑Friday 12:30‑9:00 pm;
  Saturday 6:30‑3:30 pm

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Conduct standard component inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers.
• Identify root cause of failures/conditions and perform required repairs.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Maintain facility operations and support duties.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
• Use Shop Management System for documentation.
• Work in accordance with safety, DOT, and corporate compliance guidelines.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification (Post‑secondary degree or technical certificates) preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience in automotive diesel engine repair.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test.
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check (drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years).
