Meat​/Seafood Clerk

Overview

Join the winning team at Sprouts Farmers Market as a Meat Clerk and help customers make healthy choices in a dynamic, friendly environment. As a Meat Clerk you will provide excellent customer service, handle and prepare protein foods, and support store operations in the meat department.

• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck.

• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare against invoices.

• Examine meats in storage, rotate them to prevent aging, and maintain product quality.

• Provide prompt and friendly service to customers, answering questions, handling special orders, and directing them to items.

• Follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs and adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

• Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work areas, including tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers.

• Minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and weight‑and‑measure knowledge.
• Dependability, flexible schedule availability (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
• Outgoing, friendly attitude and strong communication skills.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours per shift, walk up to 2 miles, and work in a temperature‑controlled environment.
• Vision suitable for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Capacity to lift/carry 25–90 lbs, move pallets up to 500 lbs, and move racks or tables up to 70 lbs.
• Knowledge of weekly ad items, ability to provide product location direction, and willingness to take direction.

$17.45 – $23.55 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
