Summary

A Cashier associate provides excellent customer service by greeting customers, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scanning merchandise, handling refunds and exchanges, and performing training, maintenance, and stocking duties as assigned. As often the first and last point of contact, the Cashier should always greet customers warmly and thank them upon departure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow CNRG’s Mission and Values
• Process transactions accurately and promptly (credit cards, cash, checks, etc.)
• Greet customers entering and leaving the store
• Verify merchandise details for transactions
• Handle returns, exchanges, and sales
• Answer phone calls courteously and efficiently
• Manage payments on accounts and assist with credit applications
• Complete and file due tickets and rain checks
• Count and prepare cash deposits, organize the cash drawer
• Use verification systems per company policy
• Manage paperwork and reports accurately
• Assist customers in locating items and call for assistance if needed
• Protect company assets through proper cash handling
• Maintain a positive customer service attitude
• Follow all cashier procedures
• Distinguish between similar products accurately
• Help keep the store clean
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Must demonstrate CNRG’s Mission and Values, possess strong communication skills, be customer and team-oriented, and have good organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and lift up to 50 lbs. is required. Must also have high product knowledge and the ability to distinguish between similar items.
