Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses around the United States. We are seeking a Service Plumber to join our growing team and become an integral part of our company’s future.

We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. In this role, you will perform service work that includes troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure that all work meets high‑quality standards and local codes. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners are essential for success.

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
• Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
• Manage the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
• Maintain safety equipment.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to recommend effective solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
• Proven customer service record focused on professionalism and satisfaction.
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities to guide apprentices and coordinate with other trades.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and at least 3 years of driving experience.

Licensing:
Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention and gas piping are a plus.

• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Climb ladders, access attics, navigate tight spaces, drive, enter crawlspaces, and use hand tools.
• Drive.
• Work in indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces.
• Stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch regularly.
• Regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
