Rutgers University Medical Group Cardiology is a high volume, multispecialty Cardiovascular practice providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients across the region. Our practice provides a broad range of outpatient cardiology services, including general cardiology, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and diagnostic testing.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments for patients presenting with symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
  • Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
  • Anticoagulation / coumadin management: review and interpret PT/INR results and adjust coumadin doses using established protocols and provider guidance
  • Administering Injections per provider orders and clinical protocols
  • Managing telephone triage for symptomatic cardiac patients
  • Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
  • Managing urgent clinical concerns and abnormal diagnostic results through timely assessment, escalation and coordination of immediate intervention
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
  • Managing medication prior authorization workflow and denial follow up
  • Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes
  • Pursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, and organizational resources that support long term career progression

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Possession of an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA is a plus. 1 year of previous RN experience is preferred. An Associate's degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

This position is Day Shift, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm.
