The Assistant Manager is a full‑time position that assists the club manager in the oversight of club operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience. You will be heavily involved with team members onboarding and training, leading the team through task completion and driving club priorities and KPI goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead team members to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Model outstanding member experience behaviors; coach and inspire others.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns.
- Provide backup staffing support as needed.
- Manage inventory system for cleaning supplies.
- Order club supplies and retail products.
- Track KPI to identify strengths and opportunities; collaborate with club manager.
- Support the Club Manager with hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Assess and assist in emergency situations.
- Greet members/guests, assist them with questions as they check in.
- Promote our Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor.
- Resolve member concerns and, if needed, elevate to a Manager.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers.
- Perform membership related functions such as sign‑ups, billing updates, cancellations, collect unpaid balances and transfer memberships.
- Make prospective member calls and tours; assess membership needs.
- Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
- Clean and sanitize all exercise equipment and spa amenities, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked and clutter‑free.
- Perform comprehensive walk‑through of all club areas, fixing safety/policy and cleanliness issues promptly.
- Address maintenance and facility concerns such as broken or missing equipment.
- 9‑12 months of customer service experience preferred.
- 9‑12 months of supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (training provided).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Continuous standing and moving throughout the club.
- Continual in‑person or phone communication during shift.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Exposure to toxic chemicals during shift.
- Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.
- Movement involving bending, twisting, and reaching.
