Medical Assistant (CMA/LPN/EMT) – Milledgeville, GA
Peachtree Immediate Care has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant at our Milledgeville location. This full‑time position involves three 12‑hour shifts with a rotating weekend shift and requires cross‑training in both front‑ and back‑office duties.
Peachtree Immediate Care is a leading urgent care operator in Georgia dedicated to providing an excellent patient experience. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality care, serving as a liaison between patients and medical providers, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to greet visitors, patients, and staff.
- Perform duties within scope of practice, including basic medical procedures.
- Maintain quality control and compliance measures required by CRH Healthcare.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in clean, safe condition.
- Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Prepare patients for examination and accurately document complaints, vital signs, medications, and allergies.
- Initiate patient care before provider exam according to standing orders.
- Perform lab tests, administer medications via various routes, and perform venipuncture as policy allows.
- Assist with occupational health services and radiographic image collection.
- Provide direct patient care under physician, PA, or NP instruction.
- Ensure proper consents are obtained and signed.
- Assist with minor surgeries, wound care, and scheduling of tests or referrals.
- Allay patient fears and answer questions.
- Collaborate positively with other departments and physicians’ offices.
- Follow medication administration procedures and narcotic control regulations.
- Communicate concerns regarding medical care through the chain of command.
- Suggest improvements to work methods.
- Perform other assigned duties within scope of practice.
- Patient discharge, including review of written instructions.
- Answer telephone calls per department standards and document information.
- Conduct routine equipment checks and stock supplies; notify staff of items needing ordering.
- Attend relevant in‑service and educational conferences and quarterly staff meetings.
- Keep knowledge and skills current.
- Adhere to safety and infection‑control standards.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant school (certification preferred). Licensed Practical Nurses, EMTs, machine operators, and radiologic technologists must hold applicable state licensure.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Reliable transportation to regional offices.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a fast‑paced environment.
- Capability to escort/transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
- Willingness to work all shifts, including day, evening, and weekends.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal communication.
Prefer a minimum of 1–2 years in an outpatient/clinic setting. Duties are performed under direct supervision of a medical provider and may vary by state regulations; employees must only perform duties authorized by the provider and permitted by state law.
Working ConditionsWork in a clean, well‑lit, heated, and air‑conditioned environment. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible. The schedule depends on departmental needs and staffing patterns; holiday and weekend work may be required.
