Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator
Apart from the summary below, this position is assigned to the Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Marketing and Communications Branch;
Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services, Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC);
Millington, TN. The incumbent is held at CNIC Headquarters and is responsible for the total Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising Sales Program for CNIC’s Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) organization.
Coordinates and manages the Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising Sales Program including strategy development, sales of print and digital marketing packages, matching target populations and events with potential sponsors, developing proposal packages, soliciting sponsor ships, overseeing sponsorship agreements, and promoting program visibility. Maintains accounting and records, evaluates events, and initiates follow‑up communication with sponsors.
Duties- Develop proposal packages, negotiate terms, initiate contracts, ensure legal reviews and obtain required signatures; guarantee contractual fulfillment and completion of evaluation or follow‑up reports.
- Create training and educational materials on event marketing and commercial sponsorship for Muscle, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) departments; serve as CNIC FFR’s expert on sponsorship and advertising regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide visibility for CNIC FFR and disseminate information through presentations about available sponsorship opportunities and sales lead prospects.
- Maintain liaison with regional commercial sponsorship managers, recreation program managers, key staff, installations, and groups to gather information relevant to FFR programs and solicit sponsor ships.
- Maintain liaison with existing and potential sponsors, advertising buyers, community businesses, corporate contacts, service clubs, and military support groups to support sponsorship solicitation.
- Act as branch representative on special event planning committees; conduct meetings to ensure deadlines, fulfillment, equipment, materials, and departmental commitments are met.
- Develop and implement event promotional plans including graphic work orders, advertising placement, in‑kind advertising management, news releases, and publicity materials.
- Prepare Purchase Order and Contract requests in compliance with accounting standards for required purchases.
- Must pass all applicable background checks.
- Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check; any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must be willing to relocate to reside within the local commuting area of Millington, TN, or Washington, DC.
- Knowledge of CNIC (or similar) organizational structure and mission(s).
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles and techniques of operational program management.
- Knowledge of and skill in running a Commercial Sponsorship program.
- Knowledge of digital platforms and military programs.
- Skill in organizing and planning events and in digital sales.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to understand, adhere to, and explain complex regulations, instructions, and directives related to Commercial Sponsorship/Advertising and CNIC FFR program management.
- Ability to develop customized presentations, deliver to, and address groups.
- Ability to evaluate programs and recommend improvement or correction.
- Ability to analyze and prepare clear, concise, technically sound reports.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to solicit sponsorship, negotiate agreements, and prepare after‑action reports.
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
- Three years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. in a related field.
- Three years of specialized experience implementing sponsorship and advertising regulations, policies, procedures, or practices.
- A combination of education and specialized experience.
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions may require a one‑year probationary period, participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days, and may require travel more than twice per year.
