Join our Millsboro manufacturing team as a Laboratory Technician assisting in the critical production of veterinary vaccines. This role involves working in a highly regulated environment, performing essential cell culture and embryo harvest processes throughout the manufacturing cycle. You will work with a variety of technical equipment under moderate supervision, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality through strict adherence to gowning protocols and sterile procedures.
This is an excellent 1‑year assignment for science graduates or experienced lab professionals to gain hands‑on experience in a Biotechnology Center of Excellence.
$20.00/hr – $22.00/hr
Responsibilities- Perform aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation, and the harvest of tissue and embryos.
- Execute vaccine production tasks such as filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and visual inspection of finished products.
- Maintain meticulous concurrent record‑keeping, including charts and logbooks, in accordance with GMP standards.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment while maintaining the cleanliness of floors, walls, and tables.
- Operate and assist with the setup of laboratory equipment such as stir plates, pipettes, cylinders, and weighing scales.
- Support non‑aseptic procedures, which may include the handling of poultry for tissue or waste harvesting.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and assist in the review and development of SOPs and Production Outlines.
- Report all non‑routine occurrences and assist in the training of new team members as needed.
- Manage the accumulation and labeling of hazardous wastes following proper safety training.
- Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences (fresh graduates are welcome) OR a High School Diploma/GED with 2–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Required:
Experience working in a regulated industry or a manufacturing facility with basic lab knowledge (pipettes, cylinders, etc.). - Required:
Previous experience in an aseptic cleanroom production environment. - Preferred:
Familiarity with hatchery work, including egg harvesting, candling, and inoculating chicken eggs. - Skills:
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to perform mathematical conversions.

Resources must not currently live or work on a poultry farm or in a poultry environment. - Shift &
Schedule:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends. - Duration:
This is an estimated 1‑year assignment. - Physical:
Requires full gowning/scrubs and the ability to work in a highly regulated cleanroom setting.
