Our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will be the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations.
You will work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication, contributing to a safe and inclusive culture where all feel valued and empowered.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy station (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt moments at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register; and demonstrate compassionate care by resolving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stock, and waiting‑bin inventories, as permitted by law.
- Support a high‑performing team by embracing a growth mindset, seeking feedback, and expanding clinical and technical knowledge.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market.
- Comply with all federal, state, local laws, regulations, and professional standards, ensuring patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, off‑site clinic staffing) where legally supported and trained.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.
- Review, collect, and document patient information for vaccination records.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements governing practice, age, education, licensure, or certification.
- Minimum age: 16 or older if not mandated by the board.
- Minimum education:
high school diploma or equivalent, or enrollment in high school or equivalency program if not mandated. - State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner; recognize and respond to patient reactions.
