Job SummaryPet Smart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and best-in-class salon services, upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility for cleanliness and pet health and safety standards.

- Independently perform full menu of bath, brush, and grooming services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) following Pet Smart’s standards.
- Recommend additional health and wellness solutions based on the pet’s needs.
- Ensure a positive pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
- Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
- Conduct appointment reminder calls, maintain client records, and consult with pet parents on services offered.
- Manage check-in/check-out procedures and rebooking paperwork.
- Promote salon sales and help achieve sales targets and productivity metrics.
- Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area; perform routine maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per the checklist.
- Take immediate action if a pet is sick or injured; transport to the vet as needed.
- Assist in other departments as required; participate in Belonging and Recognition culture; follow all company policies.
- Prior grooming experience; or 6 months as a Stylist in Training with successful completion of Pet Smart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification, or passes the salon technical evaluation.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Stand, walk, and perform grooming tasks; frequent use of hands; may require lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional team lifting over 100 pounds.
- Exposure to a wet environment with pet hair; moderate to high noise levels; exposure to live animals.

Pay varies by experience, training, skills or knowledge and store location. The base rate will be the greater of the base pay rate or groom pay, and Pet Smart will not pay less than the local minimum wage. Benefits are described at
