An immediate opportunity awaits a passionate Special Education Teacher eager to make an impact in a dynamic educational community near Milpitas, CA. This contract position is ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a school setting and is focused on supporting students with moderate to severe needs. The school is looking to fill this vital role quickly due to an unexpected opening, ensuring services continue seamlessly for the caseload.
This full-time assignment extends from August 13, 2026, through June 8, 2027. Youll work closely with three Essential Skills (ESN) classrooms, each serving students with varying academic and behavioral supports. Collaboration and adaptability will be key as you provide instruction, individualized support, and advocacy for your students.
Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Mod/Severe teaching credential (non-negotiable)
- Experience in K-12 special education, particularly with mod/severe populations
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and collaborative problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver instruction to three ESN classrooms
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each students unique needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, specialists, and related service providers
- Provide a positive and structured classroom environment focused on growth and achievement
