To make electronics, you need chips, wafers, transistors, reticles, and... To make these, you must see, test and manufacture them at scale—faster and better than ever before. That's where KLA comes in. Whether you're early in your career or an experienced professional, you'll solve complex challenges, work alongside brilliant minds and help shape the future of technology.
Group/DivisionThe Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics.
The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division delivers industry-leading metrology solutions essential to advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Its portfolio includes systems for measuring film thickness, critical dimensions, composition, and resistivity—key to developing and scaling next-gen IC processes. FaST partners closely with customers from early R&D through high-volume production, ensuring performance and process alignment.
What You'll DoIn this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.
Product Development Engineer - NPI Join the action! As a New Product Introduction (NPI) product development engineer, you will support our division’s new product development process. This engineering adventure starts with providing hands‑on support during technology feasibility evaluations and continues through the release of new products into production. Along the way, you will partner with the design engineering team to complete product designs and build prototype assemblies. You will be responsible for the creation and release of critical items such as product BOMs, procedures, tooling, and packaging.
You will work closely with the manufacturing team to understand and provide what they need to be successful for mass production. Are you ready? Join us and experience an environment that supports teamwork, learning, and forward‑thinking!
Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development. Propose new insights and improvements, identify and review design requirements, and drive crucial program decisions.
Generate and release the product Bill of Material (BOM) and assembly procedures.
Drive the development of the alignment/test tooling and packaging that are required to build and ship qualified assemblies.
Work with design engineers to receive and organize prototype material.
Support the field service team by coordinating the assembly, testing and shipment of field‑replaceable assemblies.
Investigate and resolve issues with prototype designs through assembly, testing, and system integration in a cleanroom environment.
Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams to address critical problems and implement continuous improvement projects (CIPs) to achieve cycle time, cost, and yield targets.
Create, review, and submit engineering change orders (ECOs) to release design and process changes to improve manufacturability/serviceability.
Communicate clearly and accurately in both written and verbal form. Use an organized and diligent approach to completing tasks and projects and make data‑driven decisions.
