10 is currently seeking a Data Center / Hardware Technician for a 6‑month+ contract in Milpitas, CA. Pay rate range: up to $47.76 hourly (depending on level of experience). 100% onsite.
Seeking an experienced Hardware Technician with a strong hands‑on background in rack stacking, hardware troubleshooting, and data center equipment setup. The ideal candidate will deploy and maintain high‑performance computing systems, including computer, networking, and storage infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Rack stack installation: install and configure servers, networking gear, and storage units in data center racks.
- Ensure proper cabling, labeling, and power management.
- Hardware troubleshooting across three core areas:
- Compute (CPU & GPU): identify and replace faulty components; diagnose thermal, power, or performance issues.
- Networking: integrate and troubleshoot Ethernet and Infinity bandwidth network infrastructures; configure and test switches and related hardware.
- Storage systems: replace failed drives; troubleshoot SSD‑based setups, RAID configurations, and parallel file systems; understand file systems, storage policies, and data access performance.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in hardware deployment and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of server architecture and components, network cabling and protocols, storage architecture and drive‑level failure recovery, and basic Linux commands and OS.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify and fix hardware issues.
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn emerging technologies and practices in high‑performance computing.
