Position SummaryAs a Painter/Finisher, you will play a crucial role in repairing and restoring drywall and paint finishes in residential and commercial properties following water damage, fire damage, or general wear and tear. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
Responsibilities- Assess, evaluate, and repair drywall that has sustained damage due to water, fire, or structural issues.
- Install, tape, and finish drywall to create seamless repairs.
- Ensure proper insulation and moisture barriers are in place during installation.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure proper adhesion.
- Match paint colors to existing finishes and apply paints, stains, or sealants.
- Repair and touch up painted surfaces, ensuring a uniform appearance.
- Utilize techniques suitable for various surfaces and conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers and restoration teams to execute repair plans.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project status and expectations.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the restoration process.
- Other duties as assigned or apparent.
- 5+ years of proven experience in drywall installation, repair, and painting, particularly in restoration settings.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and restoration plans.
- Technologically adept.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to drywall and painting.
- Must have own tool belt and hand tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with restoration teams and clients.
- Previous experience working in the Restoration industry is a plus.
- Familiar with building codes.
- OSHA 10/30/40 Certification.
- Previous experience in the insurance repair industry.
This is an in‑field position that requires frequent travel to and from active jobsites. Jobsites may contain asbestos, microbial growth, lead, or other hazardous materials; personal protective equipment or PPE will be provided.
Jobsites may or may not have electricity; expect to work in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Physical DemandsThis position will typically require the employee to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor. Expect to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items occasionally for this position.
