Image Processing Intern

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise. KLA Corporation is seeking enthusiastic and driven master’s or Ph.D. students to contribute to cutting edge projects within our engineering and scientific teams. This role offers hands‑on experience in a dynamic, high tech environment, supporting the development and improvement of KLA's industry leading process control and yield management solutions.

Bring your image analysis or machine learning skills to a new application area! Students from diverse scientific backgrounds are encouraged to apply; prior semiconductor experience is not required.

• Investigate image processing, computer vision, and machine learning methods relevant to semiconductor inspection.
• Implement, adapt, and evaluate selected methods on optical and/or scanning electron microscope image datasets.
• Develop reproducible analyses and benchmarks to compare methods and understand their strengths, limitations, and suitability for the data.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to interpret results and draw conclusions that inform future research and development.
• Document methods and findings, and present results and recommendations to the team.

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, materials science, biology, geography or a related field.
• Relevant coursework, research, or independent project experience in at least one of the following:
  Image processing, image analysis, computer vision, or computational imaging
• Machine learning or deep learning, not necessarily applied to images.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Solid foundation in statistics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn unfamiliar methods and application areas.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and clearly communicate technical findings.

Base Pay Range: $49.00 - $58.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Masters and Ph.D.
