Management accountant

Robert Walters are delighted to be supporting a leading international manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their established finance team in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant to take ownership of key month-end and management accounting activities within a growing international business, gaining broad exposure across financial reporting, working capital, cost analysis and commercial performance.

The Role Reporting to the UK Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will play a key role in the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack and will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting and commercial analysis activities. Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals and fixed asset reporting. Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs. Producing monthly sales analysis to support management reporting and sales commission calculations. Preparing and reviewing weekly cost of sales variance analysis, including presenting findings at review meetings. Providing working capital reporting across accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory, including associated provisions.

Supporting annual price list preparation across multiple currencies, including EUR and USD, taking standard cost movements into consideration. Managing and supporting the interim and year-end external audit process. Managing the monthly close process across creditors, debtors, cash and general ledger. Maintaining company credit card expenses and ensuring appropriate journals are processed for outstanding claims at month-end. Analysing actual performance against budget and prior year, including detailed margin analysis.

Identifying trends, variances and opportunities to improve financial and commercial performance. About You The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong management accounting experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering or product-led environment. You will have strong experience across:
Month-end and management accounts Balance sheet reconciliations Accruals and prepayments Variance and margin analysis Cost of sales and standard costing Working capital Inventory Budgeting and forecasting External audit Excel and finance systems On Offer This is a broad and varied Management Accountant position offering the opportunity to work closely with the UK Finance Manager and gain exposure across both financial accounting and commercial finance within an international manufacturing environment.
