We’re working with a well-established hire business to recruit a Business Development Manager to cover the Bedfordshire to North London region.

This is a field-based, customer-facing role focused on developing new business, growing existing accounts and strengthening relationships across the patch. You’ll be given the freedom to manage your territory properly, backed by a solid operational and depot support team.

Plant hire experience is preferred, however strong transferable experience from other hire product sectors such as survey, accommodation, powered access, attachments, tools etc. will also be considered.

The role

* Identify and develop new business opportunities across the region

* Grow and manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts

* Build long-term relationships with contractors, site teams and decision makers

* Promote the full hire offering and identify opportunities to increase spend

* Manage your own diary, pipeline and territory

* Work closely with depot and operations teams to ensure excellent service delivery

* Accurately forecast, report and update CRM activity

What we’re looking for

* Proven experience in a field-based BDM or sales role within hire or construction-related sectors

* Plant hire experience preferred (tool, access, accommodation or specialist hire also considered)

* Strong relationship-building and account management skills

* Commercially aware with a proactive approach to winning work

* Comfortable working independently across a large patch

* Full UK driving licence

* Must live in the Bedford to North London territory

* Salary £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
