Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our Customs & Treasury team within Finance & Controlling. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in a highly specialised area while completing a Level 6 Digital Manager Degree Apprenticeship (BSc) with Cranfield University.
Key DetailsWage: £14,560 to £23,132.20, depending on your age.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (hybrid working) with one study day, 35 hours per week.
Start date: Saturday 1 August 2026.
Duration: 3 years 11 months.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by gaining hands‑on experience.
What you'll do at workYou will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our UK customs activities, while also supporting process improvement and digital initiatives.
Daily Responsibilities- Monitor and manage the customs mailbox, responding to internal and external queries
- Maintain and update import trackers
- Check, reconcile and file customs clearance documentation from brokers
- Support customs declarations for parts and vehicles
- Monitor automated (RPA) processes and help resolve errors or gaps
- Reconcile customs entries to ensure completeness and accuracy at month‑end
- Support preparation of duty reports and financial reconciliations
- Monitor and reconcile HMRC deferment accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies (e.g. MSS reports, import records)
- Produce KPI dashboards and support compliance reporting
- Assist with monthly compliance checks and audit preparation
- Investigate system errors and data issues within customs systems (e.g. iCust)
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives
- Manage and validate key customs data and documentation (e.g. EBB processes)
- Act as a point of contact for operational customs queries over time
Support audits and non‑standard import/export scenarios (e.g. temporary imports) - Contribute to continuous improvement of customs processes and controls

Apprenticeships include time away from work for specialist training. The training provider is CRANFIELD UNIVERSITY. The course, Digital and technology solutions professional (Level
6), covers digital strategy, data analysis, process automation, project management and cybersecurity.

Academic requirements: minimum 96 UCAS points (or equivalent) and GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Proactive, curious, and eager to learn.
