Are you a technical expert who thrives on bridging the gap between compliance and commercial success? As a vital member of our Technical Services Team, you will collaborate closely with our Technical & Compliance Manager, Lead Technical Advisor, and key business stakeholders to deliver market‑leading, cost‑effective solutions. This dynamic role combines field‑based technical expertise, strategic design, and team mentorship.

• Mentor the wider Technical Services and PSM Teams to develop and share technical, organisational and wider knowledge in your specialist area (insulation) ensuring regulatory compliant solutions are provided to customers.
• Provide technical advice and support to internal and external customers in accordance with BMI, BS and all relevant standards and regulations, including training and site support as required.
• Provide detailed technical support for flat roofing and other building membranes, specifically insulation for flat and tapered insulation boards, answering technical questions across all roofing and other business areas and seeking support from experts in other fields where necessary.
• Support the generation of cut‑to‑fall design and specifications ensuring all specifications produced are compliant with internal and external standards, and ensure all specifications are logged into internal systems (Spec Master, CRM, etc.).
• Provide installation advice, in line with BMI instructions, by phone or electronic communication.
• Highlight issues relating to the specification and installation of BMI products and systems and suggest improvements to streamline end‑to‑end processes, including playing an active part in developing and delivering improvements to market offer to optimise commercial position.
• Give advice and help on handling product complaints to external and internal sales, as well as site services/inspection teams.
• Maintain monthly reporting on technical services and commercial activity in line with business requirements.
• Travel to carry out project surveys, deliver training, and support surveys of large and complex roofs with the relevant PSM, with the possibility of staying away from home on occasion.

• Excellent product and application design technical knowledge.
• Good knowledge of relevant internal and external standards and regulations for compliance.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes that contribute towards product quality.
• Experience dealing with customers and internal colleagues, with a demonstrated track record of building good working relationships and handling complaints.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• PC literate; proficient in Drawing Express and AutoCAD; competent in the use of laser level surveying equipment.
