Transport Supervisor (Temporary 3–6 month contract) – Milton Keynes
Full‑time contract offering £17.30 per hour (equivalent to £36,000 pro rata
). The role requires a Monday‑to‑Friday shift pattern from 0600 to 1400 and is scheduled to start in early August. The position lasts approximately 3–6 months and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major logistics operation.
- Ensure all vehicles and drivers remain fully compliant with regulatory requirements and company processes.
- Maintain compliance with MHRA regulations and company SOPs to protect product integrity and cold chain requirements.
- Support the Transport Manager in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion health and safety throughout the operation, promoting a zero‑accident culture.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to safety standards.
- Manage driver performance to ensure customer service expectations are consistently achieved.
- Deliver operational targets, including on‑time delivery and first‑time delivery success rates.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, protecting and enhancing the company brand.
- Encourage open communication and engagement with drivers through regular face‑to‑face interaction.
- Ensure drivers are effectively debriefed daily, with issues addressed promptly and feedback communicated.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor and manage holidays, absence, and policy compliance.
- Support commercial growth initiatives and contribute to wider business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with transport teams across the business to drive a strong team culture.
- Lead and support projects that contribute to the company’s strategic goals.
- Previous experience within a transport supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of transport operations and compliance requirements.
- Flexible approach with willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic and personable communicator.
- Ability to make sound decisions and work effectively under pressure.
- Proven experience motivating and managing teams.
- Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and effectively.
- Honest, open and collaborative approach to leadership.
- Positive leadership style with the ability to inspire and develop others.
- Good IT skills and PC literacy.
