IT Continuity​/Disaster Recovery Specialist (Resilience Specialist

Milton Keynes - hybrid working (3 days per week in the office)

We are looking for an experienced IT Continuity/Disaster Recovery professional with proven expertise in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience. The successful candidate will have hands‑on experience developing, implementing and testing continuity and disaster recovery plans, together with a strong understanding of resilience standards, legislation and industry best practice.

• Developing, implementing and monitoring resilience strategies and processes, using KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Acting as the subject matter expert, providing specialist resilience advice to senior leadership.
• Leading Business Impact Analyses (BIA), contingency planning and wider resilience activities.
• Developing, maintaining and continuously improving Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes.
• Creating and delivering resilience testing and exercise programmes, providing assurance to leadership teams on organisational preparedness.
• Reviewing regulatory, legal and governance requirements, ensuring compliance and providing assurance across the function.
• Building relationships with external stakeholders, including the wider rail industry, regulators and government organisations.
• Promoting resilience across the business, influencing stakeholders and embedding best practice into operational processes.
• Reviewing technical solutions and resilience plans, producing recommendations to improve organisational resilience.
• Managing third‑party suppliers to ensure critical services remain resilient and identifying mitigation strategies where risks are identified.

Resilience covers Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Crisis Management.

• Proven experience in one or more resilience disciplines, including Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management or Emergency Planning.
• Demonstrable experience of IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, testing and exercising.
• Knowledge of technologies and tools used for continuity planning and execution.
• Strong understanding of resilience standards, legislation and best practice.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (eg AMBCI).
• ISO 22301 Lead Auditor qualification.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical, technology‑driven environment.
