We are recruiting on behalf of a highly successful supplier to leading UK high street retailers and supermarkets, specialising in lifestyle products including slippers, nightwear and loungewear.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and trend-driven Designer to take ownership of slipper collections across multiple major supermarket and retail accounts. You will play a key role in creating innovative, customer-focused ranges from initial concept through to final approval.
The Role- Design commercially successful seasonal slipper collections for a range of UK high street and supermarket customers.
- Research and identify emerging fashion, lifestyle and consumer trends to create inspiring mood boards, colour palettes and seasonal direction.
- Develop creative yet commercial product concepts with a strong understanding of customer handwriting, market positioning and target pricing.
- Produce high-quality CADs, hand sketches, technical drawings and detailed product specifications.
- Work collaboratively with the Design Manager, Product Development, Sourcing and Account Management teams throughout the design and development process.
- Present concepts, collections and seasonal direction to customers both in-house and at retailer Head Offices.
- React confidently to customer feedback, adapting and refining designs to meet commercial objectives.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines across various customer accounts.
- Communicate effectively with UK and China-based teams throughout the development cycle.
- Travel within the UK and overseas to meet customers and suppliers, source fabrics and trims, conduct market research and attend trade fairs and exhibitions.
- Previous experience designing slippers
- Strong commercial eye with the ability to interpret trends into successful retail product.
- Excellent CAD and presentation skills alongside confident hand sketching ability.
- Good understanding of materials, construction and product development processes.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Flexible and willing to travel internationally when required.
