We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our healthcare team on a fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients ensuring high standards of patient safety and well‑being.
Main duties of the job- Conduct thorough patient consultations to assess health conditions and medical histories (face‑to‑face, including home visits and telephone)
- Diagnose a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses using clinical expertise and diagnostic tools
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments in accordance with current guidelines
- Develop personalised care plans, including referrals to specialists when necessary
- Participate in practice meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to prescribing safety, referral management, and QOF achievement
- Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management strategies
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with organisational standards on Systm One
Westcroft Health Centre hosts a wonderful team of 6 doctors and 3 Nurse Practitioners on a part‑time or full‑time basis.

Job responsibilitiesMaternity Cover – STARTING 1ST APRIL 2026 – 12 months

Qualifications- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List (or eligible)
- Proven experience as a General Practitioner or similar role within a clinical setting
- Experience with patient care across diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team

Depending on experience – From £66,000.00 per year
