Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce a brand‑new opportunity for a LTFT (16 hours per week) 12‑month fixed‑term Clinical Education Fellow post. Ideally starting in March 2026, but the start date can be negotiated for the right candidate. There is also the potential to extend the contract for an additional year.
This role is tailor‑made to support both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, offering a unique chance to shape the future of medical education. You will teach medical students in the dynamic hospital environment while also providing mentorship to aspiring doctors from phase 1 bedside teaching to phase 2 curriculum and assessment activities.
With a schedule of two days per week you can pursue additional clinical bank shifts. This flexible arrangement allows you to make a meaningful impact in medical education while maintaining clinical practice.

This role does not meet the Trust's hard‑to‑recruit criteria. Therefore, please be advised that relocation expenses will not be provided.
Main duties- Facilitating weekly bedside teaching for first and second‑year medical students from the University of Buckingham Medical School.
- Assisting with undergraduate and postgraduate simulation training.
- Planning and organising student activities such as elective placements, assistantships, revision sessions and other education programmes.
- Developing teaching resources and leading small‑group workshops, lectures, simulation‑based education, and mentoring.
- Involved in the running and development of simulation suites and supporting assessment, including marking exams, OSCEs, quality assurance processes and clinical examinations.
- Collaborating with the wider medical education team, multidisciplinary teams and pastoral care for students.
- Engaging in research and quality improvement projects relevant to medical education, with expectation of presenting at professional meetings and publishing in journals.
- Participating in weekly Grand Rounds, Medical Journal Club, and IMT teaching sessions.
- Regular meetings with the supervisor to receive appraisal and guidance on professional development.
- Occasional travel to Buckingham Medical School and other NHS Partnership Trusts.
- Current full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice.
- MRCP/MRCS/MRCGP or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification such as PG Cert, Pg Dip or Masters.
- Post‑graduation experience working in an acute NHS Trust.
- Experience teaching medical students, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Experience developing teaching or training programmes.
- Able to perform all 23 GMC practical skills and procedures (2019).
- Proficiency in IT packages applicable to education (presentation, word processing, spreadsheets).
- Evidence of continuous professional development since qualification.
- Experience of audit and clinical governance activities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and develop good working relationships with academic staff, Trust staff and students.
- Able to perform the duties of the post with reasonable aids and adaptations.
