Contract:

Full-Time

Start Date:

Salary: £29,344 – £44,919 (MPS/UPS)

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team at a well-regarded primary school in Milton Keynes, starting in January 2026. This role involves working with pupils who have Autism, lower-end Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a vital role in providing personalised learning and support to help these children achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What We Offer

Specialist Support for SEN Needs
You will have the opportunity to work closely with students with specific needs, including Autism, MLD, and SEMH. Our school is committed to providing tailored learning experiences that support the emotional, social, and academic development of each child.

Collaborative SEN Team
You will be part of an experienced and dedicated SEN team, working alongside specialists, teaching assistants, and the wider school staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Professional Development
We offer regular training and CPD to help you enhance your knowledge of SEN strategies and best practices. Whether you are looking to develop your skills in Autism support, SEMH, or MLD, we are committed to your ongoing professional growth.

Inclusive and Supportive School Culture
Our school values inclusivity and strives to create an environment where all students feel safe, valued, and supported. We work hard to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their challenges.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
The school is equipped with modern resources and facilities, including specialist equipment for SEN support. You will have access to everything you need to deliver high-quality teaching and support.

Your Role

Personalised Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with Autism, MLD, and SEMH. This includes creating structured, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences that support academic and personal development.

Emotional and Social Support
Provide emotional and social support, helping students develop social skills, self-regulation, and resilience. Use a variety of strategies to support students with SEMH in managing their emotions and behaviours positively.

Collaborative Support
Work with teaching assistants, the SENCo, and external professionals to develop individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor students’ progress. You will carry out regular assessments and adjust teaching methods to ensure the most effective support.

Behaviour Management
Apply positive behaviour management techniques and help students develop their social and emotional skills. Supporting students with Autism and SEMH to engage in classroom activities and wider school life will be a key focus.

Parental and Multi-Agency Collaboration
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support both in and out of school, building strong relationships to aid each child’s development.

Who We're Looking For

Experience and understanding of SEN needs, including effective differentiation strategies for varying abilities.

Compassionate and patient, able to adapt your teaching approach to meet diverse needs.
