Inspire and Lead as a Year 6 Teacher in Milton Keynes

Supply Desk is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Milton Keynes to appoint a dedicated Year 6 Teacher starting in January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team mid-year and lead a class through the crucial final months of primary education, helping students grow in confidence and ability as they prepare for secondary school and end-of-key-stage assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to Key Stage 2 (with a focus on Year
6).

Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported and motivated.

Plan and differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Track and assess pupil progress, using this to inform teaching and provide timely feedback.

Prepare pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments (SATs), helping them achieve their best.

Work collaboratively with colleagues on planning, assessment and curriculum development.

Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support each child’s development and well-being.

Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values and ethos.

About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably in Year 6.

Confident in teaching the national curriculum and supporting pupils through SATs preparation.

A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learning.

Strong behaviour management and organisational skills.

Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Committed to providing high standards of teaching and learning.

Eligible to work in the UK and able to commute to Milton Keynes.
