We are seeking a committed, resilient and proactive Pastoral Leader to join a thriving secondary school in Milton Keynes from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour support and pastoral care, and who is committed to helping young people succeed both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students across the school, helping them overcome barriers to learning, make positive choices and achieve their full potential. Working closely with staff, families and external agencies, you will provide targeted intervention and coordinated support to ensure students receive the guidance they need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver high-quality pastoral care, behaviour support and student wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support student behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and welfare, maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Participate in the school's behaviour systems, including responding to incidents and supporting staff across the school.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students to encourage engagement, resilience and success.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to provide effective support and intervention.
  • Monitor and analyse behaviour, attendance and pastoral data to identify concerns and implement early interventions.
  • Contribute to key school events, transition programmes and wider pastoral processes.

This is a highly visible and rewarding role within a successful and growing school community. The position offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to students' lives while contributing positively to the school's culture and ethos.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with young people in a pastoral, behaviour, safeguarding or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and resilient in challenging situations.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting students.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.

If you are dedicated to helping students thrive and are looking for a rewarding role within a supportive secondary school environment, we would love to hear from you.
