A specialist school in Milton Keynes is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team of SEN Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

This temporary full-time position offers valuable experience supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, ADD, SEMH, and SEND. The ideal candidate will be calm, resilient, engaging, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with ASD and additional needs
  • Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson materials and activities
  • Build positive, professional relationships that encourage trust, stability, and engagement
  • Monitor and support pupils  academic progress and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within an SEN setting (essential)
  • Strong experience providing 1:1 support to children or young people
  • Confidence supporting pupils with ASD and additional needs
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils effectively throughout the placement
