A specialist school in Milton Keynes is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team of SEN Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
This temporary full-time position offers valuable experience supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, ADD, SEMH, and SEND. The ideal candidate will be calm, resilient, engaging, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
- Provide consistent 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with ASD and additional needs
- Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson materials and activities
- Build positive, professional relationships that encourage trust, stability, and engagement
- Monitor and support pupils academic progress and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
- Previous experience working within an SEN setting (essential)
- Strong experience providing 1:1 support to children or young people
- Confidence supporting pupils with ASD and additional needs
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils effectively throughout the placement
