Science Technician

A Science Technician post supporting practical science in the Science Department at Avanti Grange Secondary School, one of twelve schools in Avanti Schools Trust. The work centres on preparing equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining laboratories and preparation rooms, and giving day-to-day help to the department, all under CLEAPSS and COSHH guidance. It is also offered part-time, with job-share applications welcomed, at a school rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2025.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required and visa sponsorship is not available.

• Prepare equipment and materials for lessons
• Maintain laboratories and preparation rooms
• Provide day-to-day practical support to the Science Department

• Knowledge of health and safety practice, COSHH regulations and CLEAPSS guidance as they apply to laboratory work
