Transfer Station Supervisor
Milton Keynes
- 45hrs per week
- 60 minutes unpaid break
- Site opening Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm / Weekends when necessary
- Rate £16.02
As a Transfer Station Supervisor, you will oversee the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of a busy recycling and transfer station. Leading a small team, you will ensure the site operates safely, complies with environmental and health and safety legislation, and consistently delivers high operational standards.
Your core responsibilities- Supervise and support a small team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Oversee the daily operation of the recycling and transfer station, maintaining productivity and site performance.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture by carrying out inspections, identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Manage contractors on site, ensuring all permit requirements, site rules and safe systems of work are followed.
- Maintain accurate operational records, report incidents and near misses, and complete all required documentation.
- Liaise with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth and compliant running of the site.
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience within waste management, recycling, manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, with the ability to promote safe working practices.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and lead a team effectively.
- Experience using basic IT systems to maintain records and complete operational reporting.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with a commitment to delivering excellent operational and environmental standards.
