Umbrella Rate: £602.83 per day

Duration: 6 months initially (with potential extensions)
Hybrid – Milton Keynes (approx. 60% onsite). We’re recruiting for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong Citrix expertise to join a highly secure, service-driven environment supporting critical government platforms. This is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a resilient Citrix estate, ensuring stable and secure access to essential services within a regulated setting.
The RoleYou’ll act as a Citrix SME, responsible for the stability, performance and ongoing support of a secure Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment. Working within a skilled infrastructure team, you will:
- Design, build, upgrade and support Citrix environments
- Lead on performance tuning and advanced troubleshooting in high-availability environments
- Support both BAU operations and project deliverables
- Contribute to automation and environment optimisation initiatives
- Integrate Citrix with Active Directory and secure access solutions
- Drive platform resilience, security and user experience improvements
- Produce operational documentation and deliver knowledge transfer
You’ll also take a lead in conversations around environment development and growth, utilising automation to enhance infrastructure capability.
Skills & Experience Required- Extensive hands‑on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
- Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale Citrix environments
- Proven troubleshooting capability in complex, high‑availability setups
- Experience integrating with Active Directory and secure access platforms
- Strong understanding of user experience optimisation within virtual desktop environments
- CCA‑V
- CCP‑V
- CCE‑V (particularly suited to senior‑level candidates)
Experience working within secure or government environments is highly desirable.
ConstraintsCandidates submitted for this role must be British nationals, to confirm:
- They are a British citizen or hold dual nationality
- They have been a resident in the UK for at least two of the last 5 years
Due to the nature of this work Government security clearance if not already held will need to be obtained.
The minimum clearance required for this role is SC.(Although advantageous, it is not a requirement that an individual already holds Security Clearance. Candidates who do not currently hold clearance must be able to obtain the appropriate level of clearance for the role specified. Short‑listed candidates will be submitted for vetting procedures before being formally offered the position. This process can take 6‑8 weeks.)
