Mechanical Engineer – Through Life Support (TLS)

Location:

Pitstone, UK (4 days onsite). Permanent – Hybrid Working.

Akkodis is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support major aerospace projects focused on Through Life Support for legacy electromechanical systems operating in highly regulated environments. This role will involve resolving in‑service issues, conducting root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and supporting the continued reliability and airworthiness of aerospace products.

• Investigate in‑service mechanical issues and structural anomalies.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support closure of problem reports and concessions.
• Produce and approve engineering documentation and reports.
• Support technical reviews and cross‑functional engineering activities.
• Contribute to reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical or electromechanical engineering.
• Aerospace or other highly regulated industry background.
• Experience with rotating machinery such as generators or electric motors.
• Experience supporting legacy or in‑service products.
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation within regulated environments.

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to perform stress and thermal calculations.
• NX CAD experience (NX6 preferred).
• Experience with Windchill or Teamcenter.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
